This article will teach you how to build rapport in your online network marketing business. You see, online network marketing and offline network marketing are no different in the fact that you must build relationships and teach duplication to your team.

When I first started building my network marketing business I had a low self-concept. I was afraid to talk to strangers and I was afraid of rejection. I learned very early on that I needed to surround myself with positive and successful people in my business and also begin reading personal development books and listening to personal development CD’s.

I also learned the importance of ‘Dressing for Success.’ I found this extremely important when prospecting, because if my image on the outside was professional then it made me feel important on the inside and gave me confidence when talking with people. I also learned that when I presented myself as a professional my self-concept and confidence would go up. People would look at me differently and listen to what I had to say. Professionalism was the key for helping to improve my self-concept.

When I eventually moved my offline efforts to an online network marketing business I still had to talk to prospects and build rapport. I don’t know WHY some people think that building a network marketing business online means you don’t have to talk to people. I talk to tons of people! I just use a variety of tools to do it. I use email marketing, videos, phone calls, skype, etc. to talk to prospects and customers.

The best way I have found to build rapport is to ask questions. People love to talk about themselves. I don’t bombard people with my business opportunity or product upfront. We get to know each other a little bit first and then after listening to their story I begin to tell mine. It’s a case of asking and listening. When you listen, people feel important. This feeling of importance builds trust. Trust will eventually lead them to wanting to know more about your business or product. So next time you are calling on that prospect remember to ask and listen.
