Facebook for Kids– Training Your Kids To Use Technology

Social networking is really a part of our lives now and there is no doubt that most of us cannot live without being online even for a day. Facebook is even one of our tools to communicate to long lost friends and relatives and a lot of people even admitted that the first thing they will do when they turn on their computer is to first check their Facebook status and probably update it before they head on to other online activities they will do. These fast trends most adults are experiencing are also being felt by kids since they also know how to use the Internet at a very young age.

Some may say that social networking for kids is not safe because we are allowing them to be exposed to people and situations we cannot easily monitor. There were even some instances that were kids were bullied because of Facebook and other was harmed because of this. So should we allow our kids to use social networking?

If you do not allow your kids to use any social networking sites, your kids may also feel like an outcast. And you definitely do not want your kids to be that kid. Although, there are some negative sides to letting young kids use social networking, it is the role of the parent to be constantly vigilant. Facebook for kids may not be allowed because of the age restriction, but it still doesn’t mean that they cannot create their own page because it is easy to falsify age information.

However, if you want to introduce kids social networking, then your goal is to find a site that is child friendly. Your aim should be to introduce a website that can allow your child to be prepared to use other networking site while still enjoying what they like best and that is to play and interact with friends. Your site should include tools where you can also monitor his or her activities and a family friendly site where your kids can share activities with you.

Finding Kids social networking website that can teach kids to be responsible when using the Internet is a rare find, but it is truly necessary especially for our young ones who are just starting to explore the world of the Internet. For parents, they should also make sure that their involvement with their kids is present so that their child can boost their confidence and self esteem while they are on their activities.

Children should have the right support system and that is with the help of their loved ones. And after probably a few years of using this kids social networking, your child can now use Facebook or any other social networking sites he wishes to use.
